The European Partnership for Pandemic Preparedness aims to improve the EU’s preparedness to predict, prevent and respond to emerging infectious health threats by better coordinating funding for research and innovation at EU, national and regional level. The preparatory actions BE READY and BE READY PLUS are building the foundation for the future partnership expected to be launched beginning of 2026.  

The preparatory action BE READY PLUS kicked off in April 2025 with the aim to translate research priorities into actionable steps through a call topic selection strategy aligned with the SRIA. BE READY PLUS will lay the groundwork for early actions, ensuring that the partnership is fully prepared to implement the SRIA from its first annual workplan.

Timeline & key documents

• The Coordination and Support Action (CSA) 'Be Ready' started on 1 June 2022 and is layed out the preparatory groundwork for the European Partnership for pandemic preparedness.
• The partnership proposal was submitted end of 2024 under call topic HORIZON-HLTH-2024-DISEASE-12-01 (European partnership for pandemic preparedness). Find out more in the  Partnership proposal
