The European Commission has amended the Horizon Europe main work programme 2026-2027, including changes to the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Facility.

The amended Horizon Europe work programme 2026–2027 introduced the following updates for the New European Bauhaus Facility:

  • The call topic HORIZON-NEB-2027-01-REGEN-03 “Revitalising neighbourhoods around existing railway and motorway corridors”, present in the draft work programme, has been officially cancelled.
  • The call topic HORIZON-NEB-2027-01-REGEN-04 “Enabling environments for a sustainable and circular construction sector" has been published, with a submission deadline on 1 December 2027.
  • The Commission allocated €2 million for a public procurement action for the NEB Academy Coordination and Support Centre. A prior information notice is expected before the tender, which is planned for the last quarter of 2026.

Full text on the planned public procurement action is available in the amended NEB Facility part of Horizon Europe main WP 2026-2027 (page 90).

ANERIS - Next generation tools for sensing and monitoring marine-life

Funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-INFRA-2022-TECH-01) and running from 2023 to 2026, the ANERIS project aims to tackle the rapid loss of ocean biodiversity. The project’s main objective is to develop, test and implement the next generation of scientific instrumentation tools and methods for sensing and monitoring marine-life. Another key concept of the project is the introduction of the concept of Operational Marine Biology (OMB) as a biodiversity information system. The project consortium consists of 25 partners from 13 countries. Read more about the project and the contribution of Flemish partner VLIZ in this testimonial.
