The Digital Europe-funded project FACTEUR has opened two further calls for financial support to third parties (for more information see our infosheet), also known as cascade funding for the fact-checking community.

Call Emergency Response - Support Grants allows fact-checking organisations to request support for:

1. Emergency Fact-Checking Grants aimed at e.g. crisis fact-checking, debunking and investigative reporting which includes hiring additional journalists and fact-checkers, advancing technical capabilities, publishing counter-narratives and analysis of information crisis, enhancing crisis communication, engagement and reach of fact-checking activities.
2. Emergency Capacity-Building Grants aimed at e.g. improving organisational security and legal protection in the scope of preparation activities for crisis events, enhancing crisis preparedness and development of organisational protocols, trainings and mentorship, improving technical capabilities, strengthening cross-border cooperation in order to enhance responses to crisis events and the capacity to detect and debunk AI-generated content during crisis.

Applicants must be EFCSN certified fact-checking organisations or fact-checking organisations that can demonstrate that they respect in practice the European Code of Standards for Independent Fact-Checking Organisations.

Call Emergency Response - Microgrants for Ecosystem Development allows fact-checking organisations to request support for:

1. Production of Fact-sheets – brief overviews in English of the most prevalent disinformation narratives and claims surging during ongoing semi-predictable and unpredictable crises events that may have cross border impact. 
2. Production of Case studies – post-crisis analysis in which fact-checking organisations document disinformation surges during semi-predictable and unpredictable crisis events and their actions and experiences in order to share the know-how throughout the community.

Applicants must be EFCSN certified fact-checking organisations or fact-checking teams or units within larger organisations.
