Programmes Digital EuropeThe Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP) is an initiative designed to enhance the EU's
industrial competitiveness and reinforce European sovereignty by focusing on the development and
manufacturing of critical technologies. STEP aims to bolster investments within three strategic sectors:
STEP also supports projects growing the skills necessary to develop those critical technologies. STEP
introduces a new STEP Seal – an EU label for high quality projects granting STEP projects visibility and
facilitating their access to other possible sources of funding.
Knowledge of underlying EU policies and legislations is a key element in Digital Europe proposals as they play an important role in the “relevance” evaluation criterion. This Policy Briefing is one of several briefings prepared by DEP4ALL, the NCP Network for the Digital Europe programme, to support applicants with summaries of relevant EU initiatives.
We offer news and event updates, covering all domains and topics of Horizon Europe, Digital Europe & EDF (and occasionally, for ongoing projects, Horizon 2020).

Funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-CL5-2022-D5-01-02), running from 2023 to 2026, AENEAS advanced the development of innovative electric energy storage solutions tailored for waterborne transport. The project has also created tools & platforms to support the optimal integration of new energy storage systems into vessels, assess their impact on overall system efficiency, and quantify potential reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The project consortium, led by Flanders Make, consists of 14 partners from 8 countries. Read more about the project in this testimonial.
