This conference is designed to bring together the CEF Digital community, policymakers, regulators, financial actors, industry representatives and other European stakeholders to discuss the future of digital connectivity in Europe. It focuses on future funding opportunities for backbone network infrastructure, particularly under the European Competitiveness Fund, and offers a forum for strategic discussion, exchange and networking.
The event looks at future funding opportunities for backbone network infrastructure and broader priorities for Europe’s digital connectivity. The programme foresees keynote speeches from experts and decision-makers, updates on the CEF Digital programme, discussions on emerging digital infrastructure challenges, and opportunities for participants to exchange experiences with peers from across Europe.

Background: The Connecting Europe Facility-Digital (CEF Digital) is an EU funding programme supporting and catalysing investments in digital connectivity infrastructures. According to the plans of the European Commission for the new budget period 2028-2034, CEF-Digital, together with the Digital Europe programme, will become part of the domain "Digital Leadership" under the foreseen European Competitiveness Fund.
