ProgrammesAENEAS, EPoSS, and INSIDE organise an online Networking Event for Competence Centres Applicants.
Competence Centres in semiconductors are essential to the Chips for Europe Initiative, offering critical technical expertise and training, especially for SMEs to improve their design skills. These centres will support stakeholders along the electronic components and systems value chain, including start-ups and SMEs, by providing essential services and guidance. They will facilitate the use of capacities and facilities, including the design platform and pilot lines, and support stakeholders in developing semiconductor solutions through technology transfer. Additionally, they will address skills shortages by offering training, including workforce upskilling and reskilling. The centres match user needs with expertise within their network and serve as an access point. They also promote the Chips Fund and facilitate access to venture capital, raising awareness, promoting services, and highlighting success stories.
The Chips JU calls for 2024 on Competence Centres opened on 4 July 2024. Key calls include Chips-2024-CCC-1 for selecting designated Competence Centres and Chips-2024-CCC-2 for building a network of these centres, enhancing collaboration across Europe. The deadline for both calls is 2 October 2024.
This workshop specifically addresses representatives of future Competence Centers that have been selected by their national public authorities. This event will offer unique opportunities for participants to:

The MareGraph project, ‘Towards an Interoperable Marine Knowledge Graph’, obtained funding under the Digital Europe topic ‘OPEN-AI – Public Sector Open Data for AI and Open Data Platform’. The project will increase the semantic, technical, and legal interoperability of three selected high-valued datasets (HVDs) all maintained by the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), which is one of the four partners of the project. This will allow the onboarding of essential marine datasets in the Common European Data Spaces. As such MareGraph will provide a structural component in the digital transition of the marine landscape. The numerous impacts of the project will benefit our seas globally in old and new ways to come.
