Programmes

This training proposal writing on Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks (DN) is organised by the National Contact Points (NCPs) for MSCA in Belgium (NCP Federal BE, NCP-FNRSNCP Flanders) to support potential applicants and host institutions from both the academic and non-academic sectors. It is also aimed at researchers who are considering applying in the future.

Doctoral Networks (DNs) are consortia of at least 3 different entities (e.g. universities, research institutions and research infrastructures, businesses including SMEs, and other socio-economic actors) in different EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries. MSCA Doctoral Networks are open to the participation of organisations from third countries. MSCA is open to all domains of research and innovation, chosen freely by the applicants bottom-up. Supported researchers are doctoral candidates of any nationality. There are three different Doctoral Network modalities. The standard Doctoral Networks and Industrial Doctorates can last for up to four years, Joint Doctorates up to 5 years. Each fellowship duration, on the basis of full-time employment, is between 3 and 36 months, except in the case of Joint Doctorates where this maximum duration is 48 months.

In the morning a thorough introduction on the excellence, impact and implementation criterion via interactive exercises will be provided. After the lunch one or two proposals will be discussed in smaller groups that has/have been evaluated by the European Commission in the past, guided by at least one experienced evaluator and the NCPs. Please note that the same proposal(s) as last year’s training might be used.

Our target audience for this event is limited to researchers willing to participate to a DN call as beneficiary and to support staff persons. As the attendance of such an event is limited, the registrations will be validated on a first come first served basis, respecting a minimum community balance.

More information on the opening of the registration form will follow at a later stage.

ERC grants awarded to professor Inez Germeys

Professor Inez Germeys leads the Center for Contextual Psychiatry at KU Leuven, which is a large multi-disciplinary research group focusing on the interaction between the person and the environment in the development of psychopathology. She has received a European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator grant (INTERACT) and Proof of Concept grant (IMPACT). With these grants professor Germeys and her team researched a new mobile self-management therapy for patients with a psychotic disorder. The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in Daily Life (ACT-DL) was further developed for the clinical environment. In line with that the Horizon 2020 IMMERSE project aims to thoroughly evaluate strategies, processes, and outcomes of implementing a digital mobile mental health solution.
