Enhancing EU R&I

The ERA Policy Agenda 2025–2027 emphasizes the importance of establishing monitoring and evaluation frameworks as a cornerstone for advancing gender equality and inclusiveness in research and innovation (R&I), including monitoring of Gender Equality Plans (GEPs), the integration of the gender dimension in R&I content, the development of intersectionality indicators, and gender equality expenditure tracking. Such frameworks will make it possible to identify areas for improvement, track progress, and inform evidence-based policymaking.

This exchange will bring together experts, policymakers, and practitioners from across Europe to share experiences in designing and maintaining equality monitoring systems at both national and EU levels. By fostering mutual learning, the event aims to inspire the development of effective equality monitoring efforts across the ERA and beyond.

This INSPIRING ERA Exchange will:

  • Present diverse national and EU-level monitoring frameworks
  • Share lessons learned from their design and implementation
  • Explore practical ways to integrate intersectionality into R&I monitoring
  • Reflect on how national needs can be translated into EU-level comparability
  • Discuss the implications of voluntary vs. mandatory monitoring at EU level
  • Inspire collaboration and new approaches to gender equality and inclusiveness in R&I

All information about this event can be found in the announcement on the website of INSPIRING ERA. Registration for online participation is required.

What is INSPIRING ERA?

This event is organised by INSPIRING ERA, a Horizon Europe project that supports researchers, research and higher education institutions, and innovation actors in understanding and applying the outcomes of the European Research Area (ERA). It helps turn policy into practice by connecting the people who create ERA policies with those who are affected by them and make use of them on the ground.

AI4Culture - Empowering Cultural Heritage through Artificial Intelligence

The AI4Culture project, funded under Digital Europe call Data space for cultural heritage (deployment) aims to develop an online capacity building hub for AI technologies in the cultural heritage sector. This hub contributes to the creation of the European common cultural heritage data space, which provides support to the digital transformation of Europe’s cultural sector and fosters the creation and reuse of content in cultural and creative sectors. The Flemish company CrossLang is one of the 12 partners in the project and brings in its year-long expertise in the development of multilingual technology to the transcription and translation of scanned printed and handwritten documents.
