European Innovation Council (EIC) launched the instrument EIC Accelerator which aims to support startups and SMEs which have the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing markets.
This will be done through providing grants of up to 2.5 million€, supplemented with capital investments between 0.5 million€ and 15 million€. Details can be found in the EIC Workprogramme 2021. The content and procedures of the proposals in Horizon Europe are clearly different than the previous ones in Horizon 2020.
The basic principles of the EIC Accelerator and the novelties will be explained by Rebeca De Sancho Mayoral (EIC Fund/R&I Investments/InvestEU Adviser of EISMEA (European Innovation Council and Small & Medium-sized Enterprises Executive Agency) and the NCP EIC accelerator of NCP Flanders, Magali Parent.

The AI4Culture project, funded under Digital Europe call Data space for cultural heritage (deployment) aims to develop an online capacity building hub for AI technologies in the cultural heritage sector. This hub contributes to the creation of the European common cultural heritage data space, which provides support to the digital transformation of Europe’s cultural sector and fosters the creation and reuse of content in cultural and creative sectors. The Flemish company CrossLang is one of the 12 partners in the project and brings in its year-long expertise in the development of multilingual technology to the transcription and translation of scanned printed and handwritten documents.
