FutureFoodS is an innovative European partnership focused on transforming Europe's food production and consumption towards more sustainable and resilient systems. 

The first FutureFoodS co-funded call will open on November 6th.  This call offers funding for innovative projects that contribute to one of the following topics: 

  • Topic 1: The way towards sustainable and resilient food systems
  • Topic 2: New foods – Fostering innovations in food design, processing and supply via demand and supply reorientation 
  • Topic 3: Empowering sustainable food choices - Enabling environments and dietary shifts

FWO, Flanders' FOOD, and VLAIO are organizing a joint info session for this call on Tuesday, November 5, in room 3.N.04 of the Belpaire Building, Simon Bolivarlaan 17, 1000 Brussels, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Participation is free, but registration is required and can be done by emailing ann.joris@vlaio.be

BEAT-AF - Ground-Breaking Electroporation-based intervention for Atrial Fibrillation treatment

The Horizon2020 project BEAT-AF brings together 9 European renowned clinical centres in France, Belgium, Czechia, Germany and Austria. Together, the consortium strives to revolutionize Atrial Fibrillation (AF) treatment through catheter ablation and contribute to decrease the huge burden of AF in Europe. The BEAT-AF project kicked off in 2021 and will run until 2026. The department of electrophysiology of the AZ Sint-Jan Hospital in Bruges is partner in the project and has so far contributed to the pre-clinical development, the first in man studies and first registries of the revolutionary AF treatment put forward by the consortium. The first pilot studies show that the treatment is safe, effective and efficient.
