A training proposal writing on the ERC Advanced Grant call for proposals is organised by NCP Flanders. The training is organised to support potential researchers and host institutions in the preparation of their ERC Advanced Grant application at a host institution located in Flanders or a Flemish public institution located anywhere in Belgium. Researchers who are planning to submit an ERC Advanced Grant proposal for the 2026 call or in the next round(s) are encouraged to attend this training.

The ERC Advanced Grant Call 2026 tentative opening date is 28 May 2026 with a tentative deadline on 27 August 2026. The 2026 ERC Advanced Grant call will be made available on the European Commission Funding and Tender Portal.

The call will be open to established research leaders of any nationality and from any field of research (bottom-up approach), with a recognized track-record of research achievements. There is no minimum or maximum age limit. The amount of the grant is up to € 2.5 million for 5 years (or up to €3.5 million in specific cases).

This is a call using lump-sum contribution. Since the 2024 AdG call it is based on the use of lump sum contribution and thus the following related resources could be useful: Q&A on lump sums and webinar on lump sums.

It is advised to potential applicants to also attend the Belgian webinar on the ERC Advanced Grant 2026 call which will take place on 12 May 2026 and/or the Mercury webinar on ERC Advanced Grants which will take place on 29 April 2026.

Participation to this training is free of charge. Registration via this registration form is required (preferably with a professional e-mail address).

YoPA – Youth-centered participatory action for a healthy lifestyle

The YoPA project, ‘a youth-centred preventive action approach towards co-created implementation of socially and physically activating environmental interventions’ obtained funding from Horizon Europe’s Health Cluster. The project addresses the multifaceted challenges of physical inactivity and health inequalities through a unique participatory approach. The project places teenagers between 12 and 18 years old in vulnerable situations at the forefront of the intervention process. The Institute of Tropical Medicine is a partner in the project and will conduct a Realist Evaluation to understand how youth co-creation contributes to improved adolescent health and well-being in four cities in Denmark, Netherlands, Nigeria and South Africa.  By integrating its results and sharing its approach in an open access Toolbox, ITM aims to contribute to fostering sustainable, youth-led solutions for healthier urban environments.
