This annual strategic workshop brings together leading experts and policymakers to provide concrete input to the 2026 State of the Digital Decade Report (SDD26) and the ongoing review of the Digital Decade Policy Programme (DDPP).

The workshop will focus on the Commission’s priorities of digital competitiveness and digital sovereignty, and will link the Digital Decade review with reflections on the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).

This online event aims to

  • Inform the preparation of the State of the Digital Decade Report 2026, by identifying key technological trends, challenges and priority recommendations
  • Stress-test the interim findings of the Digital Decade Review
  • Discuss implications for future funding, reforms and investment priorities in support of EU competitiveness and sovereignty

More information on the event, its agenda and the link to join the event can be found on the event website.

This event can be of interest for stakeholders who would like to get a better overview on EU digital policies, both on potential future developments, but also to be able to convincingly link project proposals to EU policy priorities.

ROOT - Rolling Out OSNMA for the secure synchronization of Telecom networks

The ROOT project obtained funding under Horizon 2020 topic ‘EGNSS applications fostering societal resilience and protecting the environment’. The project, which ran from November 2020 to July 2022,  aimed to demonstrate the benefit of Galileo OSNMA signal to increase the robustness of critical telecom infrastructures.

The Flanders-based company Septentrio contributed substantially to completing this objective together with the other ROOT partners. The results of the project partially close a gap in the security of telecommunication networks dependent on satellite-derived time, with indirect benefits in curbing illegal attempts to disrupt network services.
