The EU-Japan Centre is launching its very first mission targeting the defence sectors.

This mission is organised on the fringe of the “DSEI Japan - Defence & Security Industry Event” fair held in May 2025 in Tokyo, Japan. During this 3-day fair, selected participants will be able to exhibit in a joint booth under the EU-Japan Centre umbrella. (For more info about this fair https://www.dsei-japan.com )

The mission will give to 12 EU SMEs the opportunity to enter the Japanese market or further develop their ongoing activities in the country and establish technology or business partnerships and therefore increase their innovation capacity and make them more competitive on the global scale.

Mission date: 20-23 May 2025
Application deadline: 17 January 2025
Venue: Tokyo, Japan

• Drone or AUV technologies
• Laser-, acoustic or satellite communication technologies

COSTS
- The EU-Japan Centre will cover participation fees to the trade fair, and the booth operational costs.
- The participants' companies are expected to cover travel, accommodation and living expenses.

MareGraph - Towards an Interoperable Marine Knowledge Graph

The MareGraph project, ‘Towards an Interoperable Marine Knowledge Graph’, obtained funding under the Digital Europe topic ‘OPEN-AI – Public Sector Open Data for AI and Open Data Platform’. The project will increase the semantic, technical, and legal interoperability of three selected high-valued datasets (HVDs) all maintained by the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), which is one of the four partners of the project. This will allow the onboarding of essential marine datasets in the Common European Data Spaces. As such MareGraph will provide a structural component in the digital transition of the marine landscape. The numerous impacts of the project will benefit our seas globally in old and new ways to come.
