The conference “European Research Area (ERA): Fostering Greater Integration. Advancing Competitiveness.” is organised by the European Commission in collaboration with the Horizon Europe project INSPIRING ERA (“Breathing Life into the New ERA and the ERA Policy Agenda Through Engaging Awareness-Raising Initiatives).
The conference will offer a possibility to discuss lessons learnt and best practices after four years since the European Commission adopted the Communication on a new ERA for research and innovation in September 2020 and the Council adopted the Conclusions on the new ERA in December 2020 (PDF). Furthermore, the conference will offer the possibility to discuss the future ERA Policy Agenda (2025-2027) which together with the Pact for R&I will guide the actions in the Reforming and Enhancing the European Union R&I system part of the WIDERA work programme over the next few years i.e. 2025 and 2026-2027 (current ERA Policy Agenda 2022-2024 containing 20 ERA Actions).
On-site attendance is by invitation only. The plenary sessions will be livestreamed with opportunities for virtual interaction on the INSPIRING ERA website.

The AI4Culture project, funded under Digital Europe call Data space for cultural heritage (deployment) aims to develop an online capacity building hub for AI technologies in the cultural heritage sector. This hub contributes to the creation of the European common cultural heritage data space, which provides support to the digital transformation of Europe’s cultural sector and fosters the creation and reuse of content in cultural and creative sectors. The Flemish company CrossLang is one of the 12 partners in the project and brings in its year-long expertise in the development of multilingual technology to the transcription and translation of scanned printed and handwritten documents.
