CERIS' annual event on Disaster Resilient Societies (DRS) will take place in Brussels on 4-7 December 2023.

The draft agenda is attached to this message. You can register and find more information on the official website. Social dinners are foreseen on the 5th and 6th December. The registration is open until the 28th November. Please note that the attendance in person will be limited to a maximum of 120 participants. Registration for attending on-line will be open until the start of the event on December 4th.

The conference takes place on 4 different days, with a variety of sessions taking place. You can find the official agenda with all sessions and timings here. The panel sessions that take place are:

Monday 4/12

  • Involving citizens in CBRN research and capacity-building initiatives
  • Detection and monitoring of CBRN threats
  • From research to innovation - the ENCIRCLE experience

Tuesday 5/12

  • From knowledge of multi-hazard risks and vulnerabilities to responses - risk awareness, early warning and education
  • Connecting multi-hazard and compounding risk initiatives at EU level
  • Involving citizens in research projects
  • Towards an all-society approach to disaster resilience: from research to policy recommendations
  • Anticipating tomorrow's crises and adapting response means

Wednesday 6/12

Thursday 7/12

AI4Culture - Empowering Cultural Heritage through Artificial Intelligence

The AI4Culture project, funded under Digital Europe call Data space for cultural heritage (deployment) aims to develop an online capacity building hub for AI technologies in the cultural heritage sector. This hub contributes to the creation of the European common cultural heritage data space, which provides support to the digital transformation of Europe’s cultural sector and fosters the creation and reuse of content in cultural and creative sectors. The Flemish company CrossLang is one of the 12 partners in the project and brings in its year-long expertise in the development of multilingual technology to the transcription and translation of scanned printed and handwritten documents.
