This event addresses research and innovation for biometrics and digital identity in complex operational environments. It is designed to bring together innovators, users and policy makers working on civil security use cases such as law enforcement, border management and disaster response.

Organised by the European Association for Biometrics in cooperation with CERIS, this event is part of Darmstadt Biometrics Week 2026. It will focus on operational challenges such as privacy, interoperability, trust, usability and explainability, presenting current European research and studies, including work linked to Horizon Europe projects.

Attendance for this specific event is free of charge, but registration is required and participants need to select the €0 registration option. Those also attending other days of Darmstadt Biometrics Week can use the discount code CERIS-RPC2026 when registering.

More information on the event and the possibility to register can be found on the event website.

Theresa PCP: ZAS participates in research developing an on-site system to decontaminate hospital wastewater

Funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-HLTH-2024-CARE-14-01), running from 2025 to 2029, the THERESA PCP aims to launch a pre-commercial procurement process (PCP) based on the development of an environmentally sustainable on-site system to decontaminate hospital wastewater. Ziekenhuis aan de Stroom (ZAS) plays an important role in the project by contributing real-world insights from a large and diverse hospital network. Read more about the project in this testimonial.
