The second EU Access to Space Conference brings together leaders from the European space ecosystem. The event focuses on how policy ambitions can be turned into practical strategies to support Europe’s sovereign, resilient and cost-effective access to space. Discussions are set to centre on institutional launch demand, next-generation launcher systems and ground critical infrastructure.
The yearly conference is organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) and is designed as an in-person event. This second edition will focus on translating policy ambitions into actionable strategies for ensuring Europe’s sovereign, resilient, and cost-effective Access to Space.
Building on last year’s edition dialogue on policy frameworks, funding models and strategic partnerships, this year’s discussions will zoom in on three critical pillars to strengthen Europe’s Access to Space ecosystem:

Funded under Horizon Europe (HORIZON-CL5-2023-D6-01-09), running from 2024 to 2028, CLARION (Building Climate-Resilient Ports for the Future) aims to contribute to shaping a sustainable future for the maritime sector by developing and implementing innovative climate adaptation solutions. Port of Antwerp-Bruges is one of the leading European ports involved in the project.
