Most Horizon Europe calls are open to participants from non-EU countries, also called Third Countries. But funding is only automatically available if they are associated or if they appear in the list of Low and Middle Income Countries as listed in the Horizon Europe Programme Guide
Specific third countries can also be excluded from participation to the programme or to a part of the programme and/or to specific call topics mainly in order to safeguard the EU’s strategic assets, interests, autonomy or security.

Funded under Horizon Europe’s Innovative Health Initiative (HORIZON-JU-IHI-2022-02-01) and running from 2023 to 2028, the iCARE4CVD project aims to improve patient care across the board, starting from those at risk of developing cardiovascular disease to those with advanced heart failure. Thomas More University of Applied Sciences plays an important role in the project focusing data analysis and AI modeling as well as on the implementation of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures and Patient-Reported Experience Measures.
