Commission seeks feedback on the future European Innovation Act

A key deliverable of the EU Startup and Scaleup Strategy, the European Innovation Act, has the aim to facilitate bringing innovative ideas to market across all sectors, to address challenges in commercialising research results, to strengthen collaboration between the industry and the academia, and to improve access of innovative companies to markets, finance, talent and infrastructures. A call for evidence and a public consultation are open for contributions until 30 September 2025 on Commission's 'Have your Say' portal. The survey gives  stakeholders a chance to share their views, in particular on possible measures and how the initiative can help facilitate the establishment and growth of innovative companies in the European Union and enhance the diffusion of innovation across the EU Single Market.

Publication ERC work programme 2026 and Starting Grant call 2026 open

The ERC work programme 2026 has been adopted by the European Commission and published on the ERC website and European Commission Funding and Tender portal. More information in this ERC news article. The ERC Starting Grant 2026 call opened for submissions with call deadline 14 October 2025. The call topic page on the F&T portal displays important notifications related to the call under “topic updates”. Tune in to the webinar on the ERC Work Programme 2026 for newcomers today starting at 15 CEST. A webinar for an advanced target audience is coming in September.

New calls EuroHPC: Sumer School & National Competence Centres

The EuroHPC Joint Undertaking has launched two new calls:Support to the International HPC Summer School (HORIZON-EUROHPC-JU-2025-IHPCSS-02) empowering up to 40 early-career researchers through world-class HPC and quantum summer training from 2026 to 2029 Deadline for application: 2 October 2025 Strengthening National Competence Centres and their European-wide network (DIGITAL-JU-EUROHPC-2025-NCC-01) HPC adoption and support for SMEs, industry, and public administrations. Deadline for submission of proposals: 30 September 2025

EIT urban mobility explained open call

The EIT (european institute for innovation and technology) Urban Mobility's open call invites applications from various organizations, including startups, SMEs, academia, and public authorities to deliver specialized trainings. One of the primary tasks of the EIT is notably to educate the people involved in new innovations and policies. This Urban Mobility Explained (UMX) Open Call focuses on a series of specific activity areas aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of mobility professionals and organisations, particularly at the local/city level, to achieve systemic transformations for more liveable cities.  👥 Budget The total budget for this call is between 2 and 4 million EUR and the maximum budget per proposal is 700.000 EUR. The call is also open to mono-participant applicant but special rules then apply as is the case for partners from Hungary and Switzerland. 🎬 Call to action You can apply up to the 30th of september and there is a preparatory webinar on the 15th of July. The AI4Culture project, funded under Digital Europe call Data space for cultural heritage (deployment) aims to develop an online capacity building hub for AI technologies in the cultural heritage sector. This hub contributes to the creation of the European common cultural heritage data space, which provides support to the digital transformation of Europe’s cultural sector and fosters the creation and reuse of content in cultural and creative sectors. The Flemish company CrossLang is one of the 12 partners in the project and brings in its year-long expertise in the development of multilingual technology to the transcription and translation of scanned printed and handwritten documents.
