EIT Culture & Creativity has opened its first funding calls as an implementing partner of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Academy, the learning and innovation infrastructure of the NEB. These two calls offer a total of €6 million to support circular fashion and skills development for the transformation of Europe’s lived environment. The NEB Academy "Fashion Shift" call has a total budget of up to €2.5 million, with up to €500,000 available per project. It is designed for multi-actor consortia that include independent fashion brands and seek to develop and scale responsible business models across the European fashion value chain, including material sourcing, design, retail, circular services and end-of-life management. The NEB Academy "Skills Infrastructure" call has a total budget of up to €3.5 million, with up to €600,000 per project. It seeks to support five trans-regional collaborations that build lifelong learning programmes rooted in local contexts, helping professionals, public bodies and educators develop the skills needed to transform the lived environment. Selected projects are also set to join EIT Culture & Creativity’s European network and the wider New European Bauhaus community. More information is available at this website. Please note that there will be info sessions on these calls on 24 June, 8 July and 10 July.
MIP4Adapt, the platform supporting the implementation of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, is inviting climate adaptation experts from across Europe to express their interest in joining a new Roster of Experts. The initiative aims to strengthen knowledge exchange, collaboration and implementation support across Europe’s climate adaptation community. The Roster of Experts forms part of the EU Mission on Adaptation’s efforts to strengthen knowledge exchange, collaboration and implementation support across Europe's climate adaptation community. The roster will bring together specialists from research, policy, and practice to support climate adaptation action across the Mission Community. It will help connect regional and local Authorities, Mission Projects and other stakeholders with trusted expertise, while creating opportunities for experts to contribute to Mission activities and knowledge sharing. Applications received by 31 July 2026 will be reviewed as part of the first assessment round, with successful applicants being included in the initial launch of the roster in September. Applications will continue to be accepted after this date as the roster expands over time. If you are interested, please visit the Portal of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change.
The Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Day will take place on 1 August 2026 to raise awareness of Marine Protected Areas and their role in protecting the ocean. The global initiative follows a 2025 edition that included 103 events in 39 countries. MPAs are often described as the sea’s equivalent of national parks. By limiting damaging activities, they can help habitats recover, support marine biodiversity and improve the resilience of coastal communities. MPA Day began in 2021, led by South African organisations, and marks the protection of 20 new or expanded MPAs in South Africa on 1 August 2019. The initiative is now endorsed by the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. More information is available here.

Professor Inez Germeys leads the Center for Contextual Psychiatry at KU Leuven, which is a large multi-disciplinary research group focusing on the interaction between the person and the environment in the development of psychopathology. She has received a European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator grant (INTERACT) and Proof of Concept grant (IMPACT). With these grants professor Germeys and her team researched a new mobile self-management therapy for patients with a psychotic disorder. The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in Daily Life (ACT-DL) was further developed for the clinical environment. In line with that the Horizon 2020 IMMERSE project aims to thoroughly evaluate strategies, processes, and outcomes of implementing a digital mobile mental health solution.
