In the proposal of Horizon Europe, under Pillar II – “Global Challenges and Industrial Competiveness”, the Health cluster and its six intervention areas are described at an aggregated level (i.e. with no disease specifications, nor earmarked resources).
A new template for the EIC Enhanced Accelerator Pilot – SME instrument (former SME instrument call phase 2) was made available on 6 June and has to be used for the next cut-offs (9 October 2019, 8 January 2020, 18 March 2020, 19 May 2020, 7 October 2020).
Before going into detail on the 2020 call topics, first a quick recap on the EU strategy. Europe wants industry to keep growing around AI, and if possible to be a worldwide leader in AI that is for good and for all.
The number of proposals that was submitted for the call FETOPEN-01-2018-2019-2020 (RIA), cut-off date: 24 January 2019, was as follows:
