The Testing and Experimentation Facility for Health AI and Robotics (TEF-Health) has opened a call offering SMEs discounted access to novel validation and experimentation services for health AI and robotic solutions. Through TEF-Health, SMEs can work with European research centres, hospitals, universities and certification bodies to test AI and robotics solutions using high-quality data and real clinical environments, helping prepare products for market entry. The call stays open until the capacity of the service providers is reached, and closes at the latest at the end of the TEF-Health project funding period on 31 December 2027. Background: TEF-Health is a Digital Europe project coordinated by Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany and comprises 52 partners from 9 European Union countries — each forming a so-called Node. The project is co-financed by national funding provided by Belgium, France, Germany, Portugal, Slovakia and Sweden.
The Defence-related Research Action (DEFRA), run through cooperation between BELSPO and the Royal Higher Institute for Defence (RHID), has opened its thematic call for proposals on “Pulsed Directed Energy Effectors”. General information about the programme and the call is available on the DEFRA website. Pre-proposals must be submitted through a dedicated SharePoint site. To request access, the coordinator should email defra@belspo.be and state their name, email address and the theme for which they want to submit a pre-proposal. Access to the SharePoint folder is restricted to one person per pre-proposal, namely the coordinator. The submission deadline is 11 September 2026 at 14.00. An online information session is planned for 31 August 2026 from 13.30 to 15.00. It is designed to explain the context, scope, timeline, rules, themes, submission procedure, evaluation process, and safety and ethical aspects of the call. The Digital Europe-funded Code4Europe Consortium is launching a second round of the International Grants for Grassroots scheme to foster grassroots activities and widen the support offered by EU Code Week in local ecosystems. Applications for grants for impactful, large-scale activities in digital education, coding, computational thinking, and STEM education can be submitted by organisations with the experience, capacity, and networks required to implement high-impact activities and achieve significant results within a limited timeframe. Eligible applicants are Schools and educational institutions; Libraries and similar institutional entities; Non-governmental organisations; Private organisations and coding clubs; Associations specialised in coding and computational thinking Information on the scope of the call, elibility, evaluation and participation conditions can be found on the Funding & Tenders Portal and the dedicated website. The EIT Community New European Bauhaus invites organisations from across Europe to submit proposals to the Connect NEB & Co-create NEB 2027 Call, supporting local ideas and neighbourhood transformation inspired by the New European Bauhaus. The open call "Connect NEB & Co-create NEB", with an application deadline of 30 September, offers two complementary funding opportunities for organisations creating more sustainable, inclusive and beautiful places across Europe: Through this open call, the EIT Community NEB aims to support two complementary types of local impact: 1- Connect NEB: For community-led initiatives experimenting with new ways of improving their neighbourhoods through participation, co-design, living labs, and local action. Connect NEB supports organisations rooted in their communities that want to explore new ideas, strengthen participation and prototype innovative approaches inspired by the New European Bauhaus. Professor Inez Germeys leads the Center for Contextual Psychiatry at KU Leuven, which is a large multi-disciplinary research group focusing on the interaction between the person and the environment in the development of psychopathology. She has received a European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator grant (INTERACT) and Proof of Concept grant (IMPACT). With these grants professor Germeys and her team researched a new mobile self-management therapy for patients with a psychotic disorder. The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in Daily Life (ACT-DL) was further developed for the clinical environment. In line with that the Horizon 2020 IMMERSE project aims to thoroughly evaluate strategies, processes, and outcomes of implementing a digital mobile mental health solution.
