EIT Digital Rebrands as 28DIGITAL

28DIGITAL, formerly known as EIT Digital, is moving forward while maintaining collaboration with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) under a Memorandum of Collaboration. Each knowledge and innovation community (KIC) has a financial support life cycle of maximum 15 years after which it no longer receives funding from the European Commission. EIT Digital is one of the three KIC's that now makes the step to independency. To highlight this milestone, they have decided to rebrand themselves.  For more information on 28DIGITAL's initiatives and partnerships, visit their new website at https://www.28digital.eu. New Digital Europe calls open for submission

A new wave of calls under the Digital Europe programme is now open for submission. EU's International Digital Strategy - event series

The European Commission's Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT) organises a series of events to showcase how the International Digital Strategy of the EU is implemented.  The events address policy makers, industry experts, academics, and anyone interested in the intersection of EU digital policy and international affairs and aim to provide insights on how to leverage international partnerships to boost EU’s tech competitiveness and promote a high level of security for the EU and its partners. Call for Contributions to EU Quantum Act

The European Commission has opened a call for evidence to shape the future EU Quantum Act, expected to be adopted in 2026. This initiative aims to enhance research, industrial capacity, and supply chain resilience in quantum technologies. The call for contributions is open to a wide range of stakeholders, including Member State authorities, EU agencies, EuroHPC/EuroQCI infrastructure operators, industry including small and medium-sized enterprises, start-ups, research organisations and universities, standardisation bodies, and cybersecurity, defence, and quantum experts. Interested parties can submit their contributions through the 'Have your Say' platform until 26 November 2025.  Background The future EU Quantum Act has three primary objectives: to boost research and innovation in quantum technologies, to scale up industrial capacity with pilot lines and design facilities, and to enhance supply chain resilience and governance. This Act seeks to complement existing initiatives such as the Chips Act, EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, and IRIS², and is rooted in the Quantum Europe Strategy.

Strategic innovation call of the EIT urban mobility

The EIT urban mobility has an open strategic innovation call which focuses on 5 key sectors:  Urban logistics, Public transport, Mobility data management, Electrification of transport and alternative fuels, and Health and mobility.  Important in this call is that cities are an integral partner of the project so they should be included. The call focuses thus on supporting market-critical projects that tackle clearly defined problems faced by cities, public authorities, and mobility providers.  You can find all the (registration and information) details on this website. The next cut-off date is 12 February 2026. BEAT-AF - Ground-Breaking Electroporation-based intervention for Atrial Fibrillation treatment

The Horizon2020 project BEAT-AF brings together 9 European renowned clinical centres in France, Belgium, Czechia, Germany and Austria. Together, the consortium strives to revolutionize Atrial Fibrillation (AF) treatment through catheter ablation and contribute to decrease the huge burden of AF in Europe. The BEAT-AF project kicked off in 2021 and will run until 2026. The department of electrophysiology of the AZ Sint-Jan Hospital in Bruges is partner in the project and has so far contributed to the pre-clinical development, the first in man studies and first registries of the revolutionary AF treatment put forward by the consortium. The first pilot studies show that the treatment is safe, effective and efficient.
