The European Commission (EC) is looking for independent experts for the technical evaluation, ethics screening, and budget estimate assessments of the proposals under the calls of the European Defence Fund (EDF). This call for experts has just been published with the aim to create a pool of experts with professional expertise and experience, language skills, a broad thematic coverage, gender balance, and absence of conflict of interest. Experts should be nationals of a Member State and possess a valid Personnel Security Clearance validated by a National Security Authority.
To be considered for the evaluation of the EDF 2021 calls, interested experts are advised to register or update their profile in the Funding & Tenders Portal expert area by the end of October 2021. Further information is available on this webpage

The ROOT project obtained funding under Horizon 2020 topic ‘EGNSS applications fostering societal resilience and protecting the environment’. The project, which ran from November 2020 to July 2022, aimed to demonstrate the benefit of Galileo OSNMA signal to increase the robustness of critical telecom infrastructures.
The Flanders-based company Septentrio contributed substantially to completing this objective together with the other ROOT partners. The results of the project partially close a gap in the security of telecommunication networks dependent on satellite-derived time, with indirect benefits in curbing illegal attempts to disrupt network services.
