Science is Wonderful! outreach opportunities for MSCA researchers and alumni

Published on | 1 year ago

Programmes MSCA

Science is Wonderful! is funded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and gives primary and secondary school students from all over Europe the chance to interact and learn more about research and scientific careers. For teachers, their students and MSCA researchers and alumni it offers three ways to connect:

  • Co-create learning materials: online matchmaking event between teachers and MSCA scientists to develop a proposal for experiment, quiz, game, a combination or any other activity guaranteed to have a real-life application.

Teachers and MSCA scientists need to register for the competition before 1 December 2022. Proposals need to be submitted by 9 January 2023. Winners will be announced on 3 February 2023.

The top three proposals will be professionally produced by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, and the winning teachers and their classes will be able to go on a trip to the Science is Wonderful! fair on 16 and 17 March in Brussels, Belgium.

Visitors to the fair will be mainly primary, secondary school pupils and families with children (up to 5000). Registrations will open in February 2023.

MSCA researchers that want to present their research project need to send an application before 1 December 2022. Up to 100 will be selected to partake in the fair. Applicants will be informed by the 9th of January via email whether their application was successful.

  • Catalogue of activities: a library of teaching materials, games and videos which can be used by teachers and pupils throughout the year.

MSCA researchers and alumni who developed a video, game or teaching material for pupils can be submitted to EAC-MSCA-SIW@ec.europa.eu.
