The Horizon Europe funded ERA4Health partnership has recently launched its first international call for projects: the Joint Transnational Call on Cardiovascular diseases focusing on Research targeting development of innovative therapeutic strategies in cardiovascular disease (CARDINNOV). The CARDINNOV call involves 19 funding organisations from 15 countries. The total call budget is close to 18 million euros.
Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) participates in this call. More information on available funding for researchers based in Flanders and on how to apply is availabe here. Deadline for the submission of pre-proposals is 7 February 2023. Questions on available funding by FWO? Contact europe@fwo.be .

Background: The Partnership “Fostering a European Research Area for Health” (ERA4Health) aims at establishing a flexible and effective coordination between funding organisations in the European Research Area (ERA) for Health and Well-being. This Partnership brings the opportunity to increase European transnational collaborative research funding by creating a funding body for joint programming in priority areas addressing European public health needs.

Professor Inez Germeys leads the Center for Contextual Psychiatry at KU Leuven, which is a large multi-disciplinary research group focusing on the interaction between the person and the environment in the development of psychopathology. She has received a European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator grant (INTERACT) and Proof of Concept grant (IMPACT). With these grants professor Germeys and her team researched a new mobile self-management therapy for patients with a psychotic disorder. The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in Daily Life (ACT-DL) was further developed for the clinical environment. In line with that the Horizon 2020 IMMERSE project aims to thoroughly evaluate strategies, processes, and outcomes of implementing a digital mobile mental health solution.
