The Belgian National Contact Points (NCPs) for MSCA in Belgium (NCP-FNRS & NCP Flanders) organised this info session to help potential applicants and host institutions from both the academic and non-academic sector in the preparation of a Cofund or a Staff Exchanges proposal.

The MSCA Cofund action provides complementary funding for new or existing doctoral programmes or postdoctoral programmes at regional, national and international level. Its aim is to spread the MSCA policies based on the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, including international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary research training and international and cross-sectoral mobilty of researchers in all stages of their career. Government entities, regional authorities, funding agencies, universities, research organisations, and enterprises can apply. The 2021 Cofund call provisional opening date is on the 12th of October 2021 and closes on the 10th of February 2022.

The MSCA Staff Exchanges action funds short-term international and inter-sectoral exchanges of staff members involved in research and innovation activities of participating organisations. The aim is to develop sustainable collaborative projects between different organisations from the academic and non-academic sectors (in particular SMEs), based in Europe and beyond. Exchanged staff (researchers, administrative , technical or managerial staff involved in research and innovation activities) benefit from new knowledge, skills and career development perspectives, while participating organisations increase their research and innovation capacities. The 2021 Staff Exchanges call opened on the 7th of October 2021 and closes on the 9th of March 2022.

Participation to the webinar was free but restricted to researchers wishing to apply with a Belgian Host Institution, or staff members of Belgian Host Institutions. Registration was mandatory.

MareGraph - Towards an Interoperable Marine Knowledge Graph

The MareGraph project, ‘Towards an Interoperable Marine Knowledge Graph’, obtained funding under the Digital Europe topic ‘OPEN-AI – Public Sector Open Data for AI and Open Data Platform’. The project will increase the semantic, technical, and legal interoperability of three selected high-valued datasets (HVDs) all maintained by the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ), which is one of the four partners of the project. This will allow the onboarding of essential marine datasets in the Common European Data Spaces. As such MareGraph will provide a structural component in the digital transition of the marine landscape. The numerous impacts of the project will benefit our seas globally in old and new ways to come.
