On 26 January, the European Commission will hold an online info session for DIGITAL calls for the Secretariat for the Alliance on Processors and Semiconductor Technologies and the Secretariat for the Alliance on Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud.

What are the objectives of the two industrial Alliances?
The Alliance on Processors and Semiconductor Technologies aims to gather relevant stakeholders, including industry, Member States representatives and other experts, in view of strengthening Europe’s industrial capacities in the design and manufacturing of advanced processors and other electronic components.
The European Alliance for Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud aims to foster the joint development and deployment of next generation edge and cloud technologies across the EU and to serve the needs of EU businesses and public administrations that process sensitive categories of data, and has the objective to increase Europe’s leadership position on industrial data.
What are the call topics about?
The Commission is looking for dedicated applicants who would support the activity of the two Alliances by running their respective Secretariat. Deadline to submit proposals is 22 February 2022.

The ROOT project obtained funding under Horizon 2020 topic ‘EGNSS applications fostering societal resilience and protecting the environment’. The project, which ran from November 2020 to July 2022, aimed to demonstrate the benefit of Galileo OSNMA signal to increase the robustness of critical telecom infrastructures.
The Flanders-based company Septentrio contributed substantially to completing this objective together with the other ROOT partners. The results of the project partially close a gap in the security of telecommunication networks dependent on satellite-derived time, with indirect benefits in curbing illegal attempts to disrupt network services.
