The European Innovation Council (EIC) will launch the Women Leadership Programme (WLP) officially early October.
The aim of the EIC Women Leadership Programme is to offer skills enhancement and networking opportunities for women researchers and innovators whom are supported by the EIC, among others by offering a mentorship scheme. A call for mentors was launched in March this year. In June already 500 applications were received. The call for mentors is still open for applications. The open call for women members of EIC beneficiaries was launched in June with deadline 2 July 2021. Fifty women researchers and entrepreneurs were selected from a pool of over 200 applicants coming from various EIC funded projects (Accelerator, Pathfinder, and other predecessor instruments under the Horizon 2020 EIC Pilot calls). They are requested to participate in at least 75% of the programme’s activities. The Women Leadership Programme will run until March 2022.
During the official launch event the Women Leadership Programme will be presented by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) followed by a roundtable on female leadership with female founders of a wide range of companies.

The Horizon2020 twinning project ScreenME has as its objective to enhance excellence in screen media entrepreneurship at Tallinn University (TLU). To do so, ScreenME has established a network of universities across Europe that aim to improve research into and teaching of entrepreneurship for the screen media industry. ScreenME will develop a teaching course and will kick off research initiatives and projects on entrepreneurial activities in media organisations. The research group on ‘Studies in Media, Innovation and Technology (SMIT)’ of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is partner in the network and is involved in two cross-cutting activities of the project: support for early stage researchers and developing stakeholder involvement.
